Christmas Favors

As I mentioned yesterday, I participated in a Craft Fair over the weekend with a friend.  It was a little disappointing.  It wasn't greatly attended and I don't know why--maybe because it was Sunday??  One bright spot was that I was asked to make a custom order.  I have been wanting to try to market my services for custom party invitations and favors.  In January I'm going to begin a portfolio with different party themes.  But I digress....Here are a few of the items I took with me.  The best seller was the cocoa packet card (a video tutorial is on Dawn Olchefke's YouTube channel).  Surprisingly the pencil favors didn't sell at all.  I think they would be great stocking stuffers or teacher's gifts.

And we can't forget the Aggie favor boxes (the box pattern was also from Dawn O.). A good friend had given me a couple of pieces of A&M scrapbooking paper when my older son went off to college last year. It was the perfect paper for this. I even covered some Hershey nuggets with it. I might have to work up some of these in Texas Tech and UT colors.

Thanks for stopping by!

Storybook Friends--Deconstructing Jen No. 77 Challenge

This past weekend was a busy one for me.  Last week I was busy working on projects for a craft fair and putting together a Christmas card Stamp-a-Stack.  I needed a little break from all the Christmas stuff so I thought I'd pull out this cute Storybook Friends set and the matching DSP.  This is also the first time I've participated in a sketch challenge at the Deconstructing Jen website.

I'm a real cat lover (much to my husband's chagrin) so this kitty stamp called to me.  Currently we have two cats in the house and I take care of three strays who have decided that our house is the place to get a great meal!  Not sure that I can really call them strays anymore.  In San Antonio, if you feed an animal more than 3 days it is considered yours.  Plus I've names two of the strays--Goldilocks and Buster.  Thank goodness my husband loves me!

Here is my helper, Scamp!  She was very curious about what I was doing--and what cat doesn't like to get in a box or a bag?

CCMC226 and a Thing of Beauty

This sketch is from last week's Fab Friday sketch challenge.  I was trying to get a submission ready for this morning and combined it with the color challenge at Create with Connie & Mary.  Disaster struck when in the midst of assembling my card I knocked over a big cup of cappucino on my living room carpet.  Luckily I have a carpet cleaner so I dragged it out and shampooed the carpet.  Not really what I needed to add to my day.  Oh well, guess I should be more careful with my morning cup of cappucino!  I did manage to keep my card out of harm's way.

Last night the UPS man brought me a special delivery.   The new trimmer from Stampin' Up is a thing of beauty.  It is so shiny and new!  I haven't even cut with it yet.  I just want to look at it for awhile....sigh.

Gotta run.  My son's musical instrument has been in to the shop and I need to pick it up today.  Thanks for stopping by.

Winter Memories

Lately I haven't felt very creative and I have put off preparing for my Christmas card Stamp-a-Stack.
Once I got started today I ended up using a whole different stamp set and color scheme. I wanted DSP that had Marina Mist in it and all I had was the Christmas Lodge DSP from last year. I inked the main image with versamark first, then inked it again with Marina Mist, stamped on the Bashful Blue tag and embossed it with clear embossing powder. Now that I have all five of my cards designed I can get everything prepped.

Have a great day!

An Old MOJO Monday Challenge

Although Halloween is OLD news, I thought I'd post the last Halloween card I made.   It is MOJO Monday Sketch 262.  I also made a half dozen of the cute little bat boxes using the Fancy Favor die that was cased from Dana Newsom.

Beautiful Season

Here is a sneak peek of one of the cards we will be making at my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack this coming Saturday.  This card was inspired by Mercedes Weber.  I liked the look of stamping the bird image with just red.  I bought this stamp set after Christmas last year so I was a little relieved that it made it into the 2012-13 catalog.  I am somewhat of a bird freak.  In a former life I used to sketch and paint birds.  Now I just stamp them!

Stampin' Supplies:
Stamps:  Beautiful Season, More Merry Messages
Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Accessories:  Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder, Window Frames Framelits, Festive Paper Piercing Pack, Vintage Faceted Buttons, Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Basic Pearls

Check back tomorrow for another sneak peek!  If you are interested in coming to the class, check out the details at www.stampingalamode.stampinup.net.  Thanks for stopping by.
