Oh, Hello-Paper Players Challenge #130

Today I should really be cleaning up the stamping mess I have going on.  I still have my workshop tables set up in the middle of my living room.  I keep telling myself "just one more card I'll put everything away".  Just one more card.....

Today's sketch challenge comes to you from Paper Players Challenge #130.  The new set, Oh, Hello, coordinates with the Tea for Two DSP.  The colors used in this card are Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Bashful Blue and Lucky Limeade.   I used two different embossing folders on the Bashful Blue cardstock.  First I embossed with the Delicate Design folder then I positioned the Perfect Polka Dots folder on the unembossed portion and ran it through my Big Shot until I thought I was at the edge of the Delicate Design embossing.  Is that clear as mud, or what?

It's another cool day in San Antonio.  This morning I was out and about early to take my poor kitty to the vet for an ultrasound.  Hopefully everything will turn out to be okay.  Okay, now I'm going to clean up......Thanks for stopping by!

CCMC236

One more challenge for today.  My blogging seems to be a "Feast or Famine" endeavor.  I'm pretty sure I won't keep up this pace for very long!  After having my Valentine class I'm ready to move on to something other than hearts and colors in the pink/red family.  At least I didn't use a heart on this card.  It has turned cooler and windy here so it will be a perfect day to stay inside and craft.  How lucky am I to be a SAHM?

Have  a wonderful day!

CCMC-OCC1 Meets PPA151

Last fall I was the lucky winner of a subscription to Create with Connie & Mary as a result of participating in the challenges at their site.  The spring session has just begun and I thought I'd give the challenges another whirl.  I combined their color challenge with a sketch challenge at Paper Pal Arts.  If it weren't for the More Amore DSP, I don't think I would have ever combined Real Red with Primrose Petals.  All I can say is "yuk" to Primrose Petals.  There is too much orange in it and when it sits next to red the combo looks disasterous.  But, that is just my opinion.  At the last minute I colored the silver glimmer paper with Primrose Petals ink and dug out a black mini library clip.

Sweetheart Treat Box

These little papier mache boxes called out to me when I was at my local crafting store last week.  There were six to a pack and they seemed perfect for a little 3-D project to add to my Valentine class.  I made two, each with different patterned papers from the More Amore DSP.  My favorite paper is the one with the little hearts on front and the Primrose Petal retro pattern on the back.  What is your favorite pattern from this pack?  Don't you wish that sometimes you could buy a whole pack of paper with just one pattern?  You could challege yourself to figure out how to use every piece of patterned paper from your pack.  Once again I used the single stamp from the Valentine promotion.  The box was so small that there wasn't much room for embellishment.  I only managed to get one little flower from the Flower Trim on the top of the box.  Guess I need to go with the "Less is Better" mentality.

Freshly Made Sketch #70

This is truly a freshly made sketch.  This weekend I received a nudge from my stamping friends to post something to my blog.  Peer pressure works!  The Sale-a-Bration Sycamore Street DSP was calling to me.  Last week my latest order came with the Secret Garden Bundle (13110[W] 131099[C]) so I decided to pair the two.  If you haven't ordered this bundle I can tell you that the dies fit nicely with the stamps.

My son had set up his photo box in order to work on videos for his You Tube channel so it was nice and convenient for his mom to use.  Thank goodness, because I have a big mess going at my house today.  I hosted a Valentine card class here on Friday and Saturday night with almost all of my favorite stamping friends and I haven't cleaned up yet.  Thanks for stopping by!

Another Year, Another Try

It's been awhile again since my last post.  I spent the month of December packing and unpacking boxes in order to get the floors in our house redone.  Imagine twennty years worth of living with ten of those years involved in scrapbooking and stamping.  I think I packed up more hobby stuff than anything else!  My advice is NEVER have any major work done on your house during the holidays.  We barely had Christmas here--I was decorating the tree on the 24th.  Now I intend to leave my tree up until Valentine's day.

The only reason I have anything to post is because I had a friend ask for a special favor today.  She needed to make a birthday card for someone who is turning 94 and wanted the card to be extra special.  We dug into her crafting supplies and put together this lovely card.  I personally think it will be the prettiest card her friend will get.  The central butterfly was cut out from some glitter paper but because of a minor goof the backing got all the details.  Hence, the white butterfly!  The only SU product used in this card was some Marina Mist ink and a few punches.
